San Jose Real Estate
Our city, founded in 1777 as New England colonists were just beginning America's war of independence, on the banks of the Guadalupe River began California's first civil settlement under Spanish rule, with a total population of 66. The Spanish-era precursor to our modern south bay city was situated only a short distance from today's city hall. The first California legislature (1849) met here, and here stood the capitol until 1851. It is now one of the largest cities in California, a part of the Bay Area which is the fourth largest metropolitan region in the U.S.
Among the city's parks are Alum Rock Park, with mineral springs; Kelley Park, with a zoo and a Japanese garden and tea house; the municipal Rose Garden: the Japanese Friendship Garden; Overfelt Botanical Gardens; and Rosicrucian Park, with an Egyptian museum and a planetarium. There are several lakes for fishing and boating in the county. The Alviso area of the city touches the SF Bay, and for awhile in the 1800's was an actual seaport. Rancho Santa Teresa Historic Park in the western part of the county has a working farm from the horse and buggy days. Within the park, fresh, maybe magical water continually flows from seams in a formation of hard grey sandstone called the "Healing Waters of Santa Teresa's Spring".
The Tech Museum of Innovation, the Children's Discovery Museum, the California State University, and the National Hockey League's Sharks home games are in the city. Happy Hollow Park & Zoo has animals, a petting zoo, children's rides and puppet shows. Raging Waters is a water amusement park with wave pools, innertube rides, wading areas, waterfalls, playgrounds and nearly a dozen different types of waterslides.
There are several historical museums in and near the city. There is the Winchester Mystery House, a bizarre 160-room Victorian mansion built by the eccentric Sarah Winchester, wife of the famous inventor of the Winchester rifle. The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum contains the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in the western US. The History Museums have recreated the look and feel of turn-of the-century. The Portuguese Historical Museum has preserved the culture and heritage of Portuguese immigrants to the Santa Clara Valley. The City's Museum of Quilts and Textiles preserves the art, craft and history of quilts and textiles.

Listing agents have written contracts with sellers promising to get the highest possible price for homes. Why on earth would someone call listing agents for information about homes?
