The New Oxford American Dictionary describes the word "Honor" as "adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct, such as: I must as a matter of honor avoid any taint of dishonesty." Another description is "On one's honor under a moral obligation, such as: they are under their honor as gentlemen not to cheat."
